Only a few more days…

31 May

So Lockheed Martin wants to send me to San Diego too…

I think I’m gonna say no to that one, i would like to spend some of my summer break with my FRIENDS.

Amazing… for this work week I already have 34 hours (sat, sun, mon, memorial day hours) i have a guaranteed 8 hours on friday, when i’m travelling… that’s 42 hours for those of you good with math, and i still have THREE MORE DAYS OF WORK that’s going to be around 66 hours +/- (around 26 hours overtime)
that’s 60% of my time awake!

all i can say is WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

whew, got that out of my system

I WANT TO GO HOME

I miss killing my friends in halo and sleeping in my own bed (the BOQs suck big donkey balls)

I don’t understand this… BOQ= Bachelor Officer Quarters
Note: there are 2 beds per room (like a normal hotel room… but this are probably the smallest possible twin size bed… I’m 5′10″ and my feet hang off the end of the bed… WHAT THE CRAP?????

Thanks for the input girls on the watch, you both get cookies!!!

ok, i’m going to go back to respond to erin’s blog, then go back to work, then hopefully to sleep (we have stuff going on until 0230 (that’s in the AM)

Russian and plans for next year

30 May

Wow, long day today (8 hours of work, on a sunday, in the bahamas)

no, i didn’t finish just now, i was actually in my room watching The Sum of All Fears on cinemax, good movie, i recommend it (the book was good too, though i didn’t quite finish it).

This brings me to part of my topic in the subject line: Russian

I think russian is an awesome language and intend to learn to speak it. My friend Armando…

SHOUT OUT TO ARMANDO!!!!!! Hey buddy!

… let me rip some “learn to speak russian” cds so i’ve been going through those (i’m on lesson 2 of 8) it’s pretty cool, but really really hard to pronounce, i’m getting better at it though, those cds are actually quite informative.

this brings me to the next part of my subject line: plans for next year

Ford (my awesome roommate for next year) and I are going to learn to speak it, at least enough that we can talk to each other not having anyone else knowing what we’re saying. It should be pretty cool, and those cds will help us (i have other tools at my disposal as well)

what other things do i want to learn:
throw knives
russian
guitar (you can never learn too much)

SHOUT OUT TO ADAM: electric next year man, yeah! (still gonna play some acoustic though)

to learn (cont’d):
my academic stuff of course
ummmmmm that’s all that i can think of at the moment

only problem with these russian cds: I won’t know how to read or write in russian

next year is going to be frickin awesome, thanks mostly to all of my awesome friends!

Ok, goin to get in my golf cart, drive back to my room, and probably goto bed

later folks,

HELP ME CHOOSE A WATCH

29 May

Greetings,

Ok, so i at the beginning of the summer i decided this: 25% of my earnings from work will go towards personal/fun stuff, 100% of my overtime will go towards personal/fun stuff and everything else will go towards school (i’m paying for a lot of my schooling, grrr) so i’ve been accumulating a list of stuff i’m going to buy:

1. New cell phone: $100-200 (stupid verizon wireless)
2. New Watch? $100-200

help me decide:
2 choices for the watch:
1.: http://www.dakotawatchco.com/DWC/detail.asp?ID=86 (black)
2.: http://www.dakotawatchco.com/DWC/detail.asp?ID=87 (silver)

your opinion counts!

ok…
3. Components for my desktop computer (couple hundred)
4. x-box game (1 or 2) and buy a subscription to x-box live ($?)
5. Misc. movies and food and stuff

for a reason unknown to me, i apparently need my parents approval to buy stuff… and they’ve turned down 1 & 2 before. Since I’m doing so much overtime though they really have no choice, because I worked for it and stated originally that my overtime goes towards fun stuff. Thank you Lockheed Martin!

So at work today it was pretty funny… I was doing those computer intensive audio analysis again (it takes like 10 minutes to run one file) and i was playing minesweeper while it did those calculations (it was the only thing that kept me concious honestly) when the Lieutenant Commander comes in and sees me playing it.

ok, lets face it, LtCmdrs are high in rank, right, so i thought OH SHIT

you know what he said?

you can finish the game faster if you doubleclick using the left and right mouse buttons at the same time

he gave me tips (that i didnt know about) for playing minesweeper

WHEW

(I was honestly doing work though, seriously)

On a school-business note: I have completed 99% of the RHF budget and am only awaiting feedback from some people! Sweet!
