81… Weekend Update

29 Aug

Weekend Update

So far so good.
Yesterday ADAM MARRS (one of my best friends here… or anywhere for that matter) swam at McComas (there’s a lap pool in there)
and WOW we’re out of shape. We did maybe 300 m (in 25 – 50 meter spurts) and were slow and tiring quickly.
Mind you, we didn’t have any goggles (and I wear contacts so that sucked) and Adam can’t swim straight without looking down at the lane lines. Basically through this experience we decided that we were not going to swim on saturdays.

Instead our new workout plan is to go on a rotation independent of what day it actually is.
The first four days of the rotation we work out, on the fifth we rest. Then we immediately start over.
So starting monday, we’d work out through thursday, rest friday, and then workout saturday through tuesday. Etc.
We actually started the rotation today though, so wednesday will be our last work out day, and we’ll rest thursday. We’re pairing this up with multivitamin and protein powder intake.

I’m already feeling better and I’m getting used to the soreness so i dont even feel it anymore. So just wait til the halfway point (winter break) and we’ll see how strong i’ve gotten.

I actually need to start writing down what weights I use for all the exercises so i can show my progress. OH! Maybe I’ll make an excel spreadsheet for it. Haha, yeah i’m a loser but i’ll probably actually do it. I’ll prepare it in my free time tomorrow that way I can use it at the gym on my axim… and also use my axim as an mp3 player… GENIUS

wow I just impressed myself with that display of geekiness

Friday Night I went out to Pheasants Run (apartment complex) where I went to a party. It was fun and I made some new friends in the process (some of the freshmen from around PY went with me) I kinda ditched ron, so sorry bud about that, but you kinda ditched me too. I went to the party with Samara, Vick, Ricky, and Laura who live on the 3rd and 1st floors.

Last Night I watched Tech lose to USC. It was a good game despite the loss… EXCEPT FOR THE INSANELY BAD CALL by the ref… everyone who goes to Tech knows what I’m talking about. No justifications for it are possible

sleep now

80…first week of classes = complete

27 Aug

It’s going to be a good semester, I can tell. I’m ahead of schedule concerning homework and that type of stuff. Maybe i’m a little behind in some extra things I could be doing for RHF but all in all I’m doing very well.

Work out

So far so good. I worked out 2 days this week and will go swimming tomorrow. Very sore right now from the workout but I’m glad. It feels good. Adam is definately stronger than me, but he’s been doing this for a while longer (i.e. a year)
Tomorrow we ‘weigh in’ So the next weight I post will be the weight I have to add 25 lbs onto.

RHF

Stuff is going well. Pizza Bonanza went awesome. GREAT JOB RHFers… especially LIZZY

Campus Kickoff (September 4th on the Prarie Quad (VT)) planning is progressing… i guess… i really don’t know much about it to be honest, just the money aspect. I had a meeting with Dr. K today (who is THE man) and he helped RHF out with some of the issues we were having.

My pod had it’s meeting on… wednesday… i think… and it, too went well. We developed some action plans for the Goals and Objectives of RHF (which we all agreed were kinda useless… finally people agree with me) but we did them anyways. I really like my pod. They’re all (…all two of them) good people.

RANDOM SHOUT OUT TO CHRISTY: CHRISSSSSTTTTTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, i didn’t know that you read these! It was nice chatting with you this afternoon.

If anyone knows of any crazy fun times happening this weekend, let me know.

that’s it for now…. Dirk Stanton will return…

79…. first day of classes

23 Aug

First Day of classes = complete

Today I had Statics at 8 AM, and Microeconomics at 12:20 PM

My Statics teacher seems like he’ll do a really good job. I was awake the entire class, and when i got back to my room I actually did the homework assignment immediately instead of waiting my usual few days (day of or day before the next class) to do it.

My econ teacher was late, but that’s ok, cause he’s funny. He has a Boston/New Jersey/New York (some northeast coast) type accent, but he’s a cool guy. Very mellow which is good.

All in all my first two classes of the fall semester went fine. I rode my bike to both classes and that went well too. Bikes are very handy pieces of machinery.

RHF

I’ve got a bunch of stuff to do for RHF, but here’s a basic list (i’m leaving some stuff off)

Exec Meeting tonight
Fix the online finance forms
Look over the new budget file
Update officers about their accounts
Figure out when my office hours are going to be
Plan out what my committee will be doing (Budget freezing/insurance (research/legislation?))
Retreat Committee: figure out crazy names for the villages, make sign up sheets, make signs, and figure out how to do housing and busing
RA Floor Meetings in PY and NRHE

More to come later
