yup, see the last two posts for pictures of my new car

i think it’s HOTT – notice the extra t

so yeah, love the new car… i’m going to try and get my parents to let me bring it to tech for spring semester (why they don’t let me have a car here in the first place is beyond me)

Still haven’t really done any work, luckily i don’t have anything due tomorrow.

I feel bad cause i didn’t work on ORACLE at all over break.

The Router Incident

Over break Ford (roommate) took his wireless router home… upon bringing it back to Tech, he forgot the power adapter for it. Upon researching it on the internet, i found that it took a 12 V power supply… simple enough.

Apparently not, after trying one 12 v power supply, and it didn’t work (it turned on, but the lights kept blinking) we decided to press on and try every powersupply we had that fit into the router…

On a website I read that it could work with power supplys between 4 and 27 Volts… and was safe between 7 and 22 volts… well i had a 20 volt power adapter… why not… supposedly safe right?

WRONG

Plugged it in and it smoked!

yeah… not good

luckily we both have long ethernet cables, so those are stretched across the room right now to our ‘office’ area. but i am left without a connection to my desktop computer (an inconvience) but that really isn’t a big deal. i’ll probably help pitch in to buy him a new router (they’re pretty decently cheap nowadays) since i was partially responsible for it’s demise (he was there and approved the whole thing though…)

Nite all…
