Projects and For Hire

Mash-up

Still working on that, haven’t made too much progress. Finding the acapella’s for songs is pretty hard and none of my compilations sound quite right yet…

MattMartz.com

For the last couple of days now I’ve been trying to rework my site so that it would be full flash. It can’t be done though. Macromedia doesn’t allow the flash movie files to obtain data from sources outside of its own domain, so this cancels out some of my cooler plans. I think that I will make flash intro though, so that when you goto www.mattmartz.com you will be given options and those options will take you elsewhere (for instance, this blog will probably be moved to blog.mattmartz.com)

Botball

Botball is a robotics competition I was involved in while I was in high school. My physics teacher from high school/friend Skinner wants to put together a team of a few of us graduates to put together some robots and go compete in Jacksonville, FL for the National competiton. I want to do it, but cost may be an issue, since i’m out quite a bit of money since I couldn’t start work until Tuesday (two weeks late). I may end up having to get a second job, which i’m not all that excited about, but whatever. Which leads me to…

Second Job

I think I will try to ask for my old second job back at the video rental place. It was easy work and I had some fun while doing it. I can’t remember, but I think it paid $7 an hour, and if i work 3 nights a week, 5 hours a night, for around 8 weeks that would be $840 (before taxes)… which is better than having not made that money. Then again, if anyone wants to pay me to put together a website for them, or anything, i’d be more than happy to do so (Flash work available)

Cell Phone

Everyone who is in my cell phone will be getting an individualized ring-tone and picture to pop up on screen. I’ll be pretty lazy about setting this up, but if you have certain ringtones or pictures in mind, I’ll put them on for you (i have the cable to connect my phone to laptop, so it’s all free). If you know the number, gimme a call

Misc.

I FINALLY will be starting Tuesday (yeah, I DON’T get paid for the holiday Monday) and apparently they have a lot of stuff for me to do (which is good, I hate being bored at work). And I’d also like to start lifting weights again, but I won’t have much time to goto the gym. I guess push-ups and sit-ups it is. :(

All in all… look for the new look of MattMartz.com (the intro, which won’t be coming out for a while) and I also intend to start taking more pictures with my phone and digital camera and posting them on a webshots or flickr type thing. Maybe even some video/media type stuff too.

Ron: what was the breaker’s work-out routine thing?

The Project

I figured out a project I can work on. I’m going to make some music mash-up (like the Jay-Z/Linkin Park mash-up). I’ve got nothin better to do… I can’t start work until the 31st because of HR… grrr. I think i’m going to start with a John Mayer/Jay-Z mash-up and work from there. I won’t be able to post these online for download, cause that probably wouldn’t be legal… i’ll check on that.

These last couple days I’ve been thinking about some physics type stuff (not unusual for me to be thinking about). I’ve been wondering if sound waves in the air could produce light if they were at a high enough frequency/amplitude. If possible, i don’t know if anything useful could be used from it, but still… it’s been bugging me.

I’ll keep you up to date with both of those little projects

p.s. i’d still welcome other ideas though
