Not one, not two, but 3
Tuesdays apparently hate me. I cut my finger on a tuesday, and this tuesday…
Woke up in the morning and was in a terrible amount of pain. Figure I just slept funny (even though it wasn’t a standard back pain). I had the same type of pain on Monday, but it eventually went away. So I get on the bus to goto the expo, thinking it would go away and I’d be fine. Well… WRONG! It got considerably worse, so I called up my friend amy and asked her to take me to the hospital post haste (no i didn’t actually say post haste, but I’m sure she could tell by me even asking that I really needed to be taken to the hospital quickly). She picked me up outside of randolph WOW it hurt. After triage they had me change into a gown and put an IV in my arm. A few tests later, a CT scan, and a few more hours and they figured I had a kidney stone. SUPER!
I know kidney stones suck cause my Dad had one a few years ago while we were in Nebraska. It’s the worse pain a man can go through. Today I went to a urologist… they did some x-rays and apparently I don’t have just one kidney stone, but 3. The Largest of which is 4mm. (ouch).
So yeah, excruciating pain. That’s what I’m in for. I actually haven’t taken pain killers since I was at the hospital. I still feel pain every once in a while (which intensifies if I breath deep) but it hasn’t been as unbearable as yesterday. (knock on wood?)
More updates later
I pity the fool…
Senior year, I’m here, let’s go have a beer while we get in gear. Have no fear… shed no tears
3 weeks in and I dislike only one class, which from what I understand is impossible to like in the first place, so I’m doing great. Our design teams have been assigned and my team rocks. We’re designing a submarine from scratch. Only college team in the country designing a sub. It’s going to be a hard, but rewarding, project. I’m taking 2 research credits with Dr. Neu implementing the control system for the human powered sub. I will probably spend all day saturday (minus the game) messing with it. I’m supposed to give weekly status reports so I will probably start posting those to my blog. I also feel I need a design blog cause I keep coming up with ideas. Right now we’re trying to incorporate multiple Mission Configurable Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (MCUUVs, aka Mantas) into our sub. Neat design, but there’s one inherent problem that I think I may have solved. They basically take up a chunk of the hull, and when they deploy theres a depression in the surface that’s missing. Since that’s only part of the exterior hydrodynamic hull, if there was something that inflated to take the place and smooth out the hydrodynamic profile of the sub, drag wouldn’t reduce when these Mantas are deployed.
In other news, I’m not playing the game. It’s probably on but I just don’t care, and I couldn’t be happier.
Rock on
