I’m taking a break from writing my lab report. Yeah, it’s saturday of ‘halloween’ weeked and I’m sitting in randolph at 8:16 PM. I should really slow down so I don’t hurt myself with all the craziness. I don’t really have much else to do. Annie S’s apartment is having a halloween party, but I don’t have a costume anyways. If I finish early enough to go over there I may just steal an idea from Mike Kaz. Last night he apparently wore a sign that said: Nudist on Strike.

This is way too much work to do for a 1 credit class. I also have to do ship dynamics homework sometime before wednesday, and I’m leaving town tomorrow. Spence, Clint and I are going to an ASNE (American Society of Naval Engineers) Advanced Naval Propulsion Symposium. It sounds pretty interesting. I remember hearing about it last year in a SNAME meeting when the President came down and talked with us. This was while I was working on the propulsion research I did last year, but before the finger accident.

Lately I’ve been seriously considering buying a Macbook pro. They just came out with the Intel Core 2 Duo processors, and the RAM is upgradable to 3 gigs. That’s 6x the memory I have in my laptop right now. Only problem is that would set me back $2500. So I pretty much have 2 options for what to do (I have a secondary list of stuff I’d like to buy…)

List 1:

  • Macbook Pro ($2500) base model but w/3 gigs of RAM

List 2:

  • Fossil Watch:$100 This one (1) , this one (2), or this one(3).
  • Xbox 360: ~$400-500
  • Nintendo Wii: ~$300
  • New Suit(s): $250-150
  • Snowboard: ~$400
  • Piano/Keyboard?
  • Nintendo DS (probably not): $180

Total: $1400 at the high end. And I probably wouldn’t get the DS, or the 2nd suit.

It seems pretty obvious that I should go with list 2, buy some of that stuff over break, and wait til Summer to get the macbook. There isn’t really any rush. Good ol’ Lappy is treatin me fine and they’re only going to come out with cooler stuff in the next 6 months. I’m fairly certain it WILL be a mac though.

Oh and I’m still not done with the site redesign, but it’s up and running like normal again. Rock on…
