Freaking @#$%$…

I just typed up a decent sized post, talking about my RHF-peeps and livejournal. I just got an email from Meg asking people to start lj-ing again. I replyed giving them a link to my site. I’m not going to start double posting (here and lj) and I’m not going to stop posting here… I like my site (otherwise I wouldn’t pay for it or keep it up-to-date). I would like people to start lj-ing again though. I check livejournal every once in a while to see what my friends are up to, and it’s getting harder to keep tabs on where everyone is in their lives. I’m planning on figuring out some kind of system to help me… maybe a computer program or something that I can say who I talk to and it can warn me if I’ve got for X days without talking to them. Yeah I’m a nerd.

Anyways… people should blog, and they should come to my blog and see what crazy adventures I’ve got myself into. Or better yet… call/write to me. Or even better… visit me in person/grab a bite to eat with me. I don’t bite.

I’m in Vienna, VA commuting to NSWC Carderock (Navy base) participating in human powered submarine competition:

We just finished (30 min ago) installing our new electronic thrust vectoring system. We’ve said for years that we’ll have one and now finally we do. Hopefully it works and the computer box doesn’t flood. That would suck big time. We used to use fins to control the direction of the sub, but the controls for that were manual and very sensitive. The fastest we’ve gone so far in the competition is a lil more than 2 knots (though the timing gates are far apart, and I know we went faster than that). I estimate our top speed would be around 6 knots. The world record is about 7 knots.

Friday night I’ll get back to Blacksburg. I’ve been gone since Sunday and I can’t wait to get back. I’ve been in blacksburg all of 5 days in the entire month of June. I’m ready to be home. I probably won’t leave til Thanksgiving, so you better come visit me. I’m tired and have to wake up pretty early… so leave a comment or something good.

I decided to not drive through Richmond on my way back to Blacksburg (saved myself a few hours). Stuff for the human powered sub team is ramping up quickly. I leave town AGAIN Sunday morning and we’ll be up at Carderock for a weeks worth of races. Today I skipped out on some of my work and went to the New River to hang out. Sadly it wasn’t a very nice day out…

Now I’m in Centreville, VA. I just spent a grand total of 30 or so minutes with my friend Gina who recently had knee surgery. Dropped off some crucial smallville for her, and now I’m kickin around in a Starbucks (with no internet, this’ll be posted later) until Holly Welsh gets off work. Then we’ll goto dinner and hang out.

Tomorrow I may goto Richmond to visit some people or I may just go straight back to Blacksburg… either way I’ll be in Blacksburg Wednesday night for the infamous dollar pint night.

Holly Welsh rocks my face off. That is all.

I’m in MD now at my parent’s house. If you haven’t been keeping tabs on me… last Tuesday I drove up to Erie, PA to see my best friend Jon Cooney. We watched a bunch of movies in theaters (Ocean’s 13, Knocked Up, NEXT, Fantastic 4). They were all pretty good. Every Thursday night in erie, during the summer, they block off one block of downtown Erie and have a ‘Block Party’ where people just drink and listen to music in the street. It was pretty fun, we met up with some of JC’s friends and had a good time. Then I grabbed my camera and tripod and did some night photography in downtown erie:

I left Saturday morning and made my way out to Vestal/Binghampton, NY. I lived there from half of 5th to half of 7th grade. I got to see Nick Kenhart, Tara Quirino, and Heather Housh… all of whom I haven’t seen in the last 6 years. 6 YEARS!!! Too long of a time.

I was only there for one day/night, but we went out to lunch at TGIFridays, went to Tioga Downs (a Casino/horse-race track), got some ice cream, played some Wii sports, went out and played some billiards, then went to a bar in downtown endicot (it was a pretty nice place, I liked it).

This morning I left Vestal and drove 6 hours to my parent’s place in Maryland. The plan now is I’ll leave here Tuesday and go see my friend Gina who just had knee surgery. Then I’ll have dinner with Holly Welsh and will crash at her place. Wednesday I’ll go visit some people in Richmond (hopefully) then I’ll finally get back to blacksburg for the ever infamous DPN (dollar pint night) on wednesday night.

I miss my bed And I’ve spent way too much money

I’m writing this post from Erie, PA. (Yeah I’ve done a lot of traveling in the last two weeks). I’m visiting one of my best friends Jon Cooney (Martz + Cooney = Marooney, the title of this post). I got here Tuesday and we played trivia at an Erie bar, Jon won a t-shirt:

Today, we did a movie marathon… saw: Ocean’s 13, NEXT, and Knocked Up. They were all pretty good. I like the style of Ocean’s 13. Knocked Up was pretty funny, and Next was cool because of his ’superpower’, though I thought the ending sucked.

Tomorrow we’re going to play Halo all day (we never finished playing Halo 2 on Legendary) And we may goto the beach. There’s also a ‘block party’ downtown, where they block off a section of downtown, and people just walk around drinking, should be fun. I’m also hoping to take some night photography pics.

JC has some cute girl friends up here in Erie. We at lunch at a place called Max & Erma’s (it’s a chain similar to Applebees/TGIFridays, and he slipped his number to the bartender (he’s a regular there). I was proud.

Saturday I leave for Vestal/Binghampton, NY where I’ll be visiting anyone from there that actually remembers me (so far on the list is Nick Kenhart and Tara Quirino).

And I’m 99% sure I’ll be getting the iphone. I’ve already been dreaming up web-apps I can make to use on it (and I can integrate them on my website too).
