about concerts and the iphone

31 Jul

So I’m in my bed right now using my iPhone to post this. Despite the cost, I am very satisfied with my purchase. I heard on the radio the other day that some great bands are going to be playing in the Roanoke civic center September 25th. Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Seether and Skillet. I haven’t heard of that last one, but I’ll check out their music beforehand. So far I’ve got my buddy eric signed up and I’m fairly certain Adam will want to go too. I’ve never actually gone to a concert before, but I’ve always wanted to, and this sounds like a great one. The crowd may be a bit too hardcore than what i’m used to, but it should be a lot of fun.

Not too much is goin on in the research front. Productivity took a bit of a hit today with the arrival of my sweet new phone. My current assignment is too solve the drag equations for a towed sonar array from an AUV. Time to brush off the numerical methods and resistance books.

Sweet dreams

It’s here!

My iPhone arrived a day early!  I can’t really explain how cool it is. The display is crazy crisp, youtube videos look great, although the keyboard does take some getting used to… Though as they say, just trust it and you’ll be fine.  Apparently the iPhone doesn’t like syncing with smart address book groups, so I had some difficulty getting contacts synced, but it was surprisingly easy other than that.  Sadly my productivity has ranked since I received it, but let’s face it that was bound to happen.

about Pownce

29 Jul

Welcome Pownce people! My friend Andrew shared my site’s link on Pownce and so far people seem to like the theme. It was originally created by ensellitis but I modified it to get rid of his drop down sidebar and instead integrate the sidebar into the main section with a vertical ‘accordion’ transition.

I’m new to Pownce, but it seems pretty cool so far, and definately has a lot of potential. Feel free to add me as a friend. (I don’t know many people that are as into the web/technology as me).

(I do realize there are some safari bugs, and I haven’t tried it in windows browsers… but it works great in Camino)
